An awful experience today for my wife, she visited the urgent care earlier this week and basically told my wife that the reason for her issue was because she has an unhealthy lifestyle.
She has changed her diet for the time being, as recommended by D. Marvel, but no results are coming, she sought out an MD to help with diagnosis.
She talked with a MD and recommended that she go back to an Urgent Care or ER and get additional testing done, blood work, stool samples, and screenings.
D. Marvel came back into the room today, and basically chastised her, didn't listen to any of the requests from the MD, and told her to go home.
D. Marvel said that my wife was "not following her directions" with her previous orders, when in fact we have been following them to a T. Taking diet restrictions, OTC medication as recommended by her. She said we were lying.
The discharge papers today didn't even have any recommendations or courses of action to take to help with what is going on, and didn't let her speak at all. She tried asking for screens to be done and was denied them by D. Marvel.
I am not sure how a health care facility can deny a screening that not only a MD has requested (which is above an NP), and also that a patient is requesting. If a patient is requesting a screening to be done, it should not be denied. That is basically a denial for treatment.
So now with discharge papers that have no recommendation or course of action, we are seeking help somewhere else. D. Marvel does not care about patients, and doesn't let the patient speak.
I am amazed that she is able to keep her job at St. Vincent, especially after seeing the multiple other reviews of her non-caring nature. I thought St. Vincent would hold their personnel to much more professionalism and integrity.
We are now looking at switching care providers due to this as this event has left a very bad reputation on us for St. Vincent.
